Val & Steve tied the knot on July 24th during a beautiful ceremony at St. John the Baptiste in Amherstburg. It ended up to be one of the rainiest weekends so far. Severe storms were forecast for Saturday but the rain held out long enough to get through the ceremony, to the Art Gallery & eventually to the Ciociaro Club. And even thoughh it was oppressively humid everyone was very cool inside the Art Gallery which was a perfect backdrop for Val & Steve’s wedding photos. I love shooting couples at the Art Gallery! Afterwards, we all headed out to the Ciociaro Club where the hall was beautifully decorated in blue. Val & Steve showed off their natural talent as models, (I think you’ll agree). It was a beautiful wedding & I am so grateful that I got to document another wonderful couple. Thank you Val & Steve

What a perfect day for the fashion shoot for Bridal Confidential Magazine. We conceived a “Fantasy” concept with Diane’s property & horses from Designs by Diane as the background, exaggerated hairstyles from Classic Re Creations & over the top make-up from Nadia & Rasha of Glow Makeup Studios. Our models, Meagan, Alicia & Angelika were absolutely fantastic as well as patient. Working with horses was especially challenging but everyone’s efforts paid off! The results are below. Thanks to everyone who participated!!

Laura & Gianni were married the same week-end as the Windsor Funfest so we all headed downtown & toured around all the events that were happening at the time. Classic cars, Elvis Fest & of course the carnival made for a fun backdrop for wedding photos on their special day. Everyone in the weeding party was a hoot & remained good sports during our downtown tour. Congrats to you both Laura & Gianni. You’ll have so many fun memories to tickle your funny bone as the years pass. Thank you for choosing me to document those memories!!!

Event photography is so much fun because you never know what to expect but it’s also demanding because you have to organize a lot of people. Anyhoo, the girls were great & it was like a pub crawl as we visited bars & restaurants in the downtown & Erie St. areas. Some of the places we visited were: Mezzo, Chanosos, Lefty’s Lounge, La Contessa, The Beach.

When Monique & Jamie came to the studio last year to see me about being their wedding photographer I hit it off with them right away. They are so much fun & Monique is a firefighter too…you don’t see too many female firefighters! I started out at Jamie’s house in Tecumseh then headed out to Hiram Walker’s Canadian Club Center. Monique wanted all outdoor shots there & I absolutely love the grounds & historical building there, so we had a great time. Red Bull planes flew by and the weather held out until it was time to move on to Per Bacco Ristorante on Ottawa St. for a gourmet celebration meal. At midnight the staff brought out some great pizza & everyone had an awesome time. Congratulations to you both. May you have a lifetime of love & happiness together!

Once again the 2010 Red Bull Air Races drew thousands to the riverfront to watch those daredevil pilots vie for a championship spot on their world wide tour. Activation of the races always begins with those beautiful Red Bull girls making their way to area bars & restaurants to spread the excitement. This is the second year I was given the contract to shoot the event. It’s always so exciting to do this event because everyone is so pumped. And even Mother Nature kept the weather at bay until we completed the run through downtown & Erie Streets. Here’s to the Red Bull Staff & city officials who planned a fantastic week-end to showcase our city & the plane races. Here’s a few now. Will post more later.

I had the privilege of shooting an awesome birthday party where the Windsor tribute band “Destroyer” was playing to entertain the guests. They emulate the iconic band “KISS”, sounding & looking the part to a T….& boy did they rock the house down. Here’s a few sweet shots I took of the band. Sorry guys for the delay in posting. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a sucker for dogs!!!! ….so I was in my element this morning when I shot these two beautiful babies with their owners. Sharon had called wanting a portrait of Blue, the Australian Sheepdog in the pics because she is old and feeble. Blue has been a wonderful companion dog for 14 years, going to work with her masters every day and greeting customers with her sunny disposition. Sharon also decided to invite her daughter with her companion animal, Popeye to join Blue for a portrait together. Blue has the most awesome colouring and Popeye looks like a giant furball. They were both so cute and so well trained!! It was a great pleasure to take portraits of these fabulous dogs and their owners. Being a photographer gives me the opportunity to meet great people and of course great companion animals too. I’m so lucky!!

I consider Sasha my best friend. I first met her when I documented her wedding and we became fast friends. She had battled cancer back then and it has re-occurred twice since. Through all the ups & downs she continues to be a true inspiration to everyone who know her. Here’s a woman who will not give in to this disease in any shape or form. She remains positive, strong and involved in the community. She recently won an award for her dedication to others from the Cardiac Wellness Center, a true role model and I am privileged to have her as my friend.
Sasha allowed me to document her journey visually through photography since after the wedding and I wanted to share some of the most recent ones with anyone who reads my blog. She is living proof of the desire and will needed to keep this horrible disease at bay.
Cancer has touched most everyone in their lives and we all want it to be eradicated for good. The Dragon Boat Races are coming soon and Sasha will have her team rowing for cancer research again. Even though she will not be able to participate in the rowing she will be our captain.
In June Britton Images Photography will host the second annual GNO to benefit Sasha’s team, “Fight Like a Girl.” For anyone who attended last year please mark your calendar tentatively for June 9th. It was awesome and will be again!! 90 women attended and we hope to have the same or more this year. Tickets will be $15. More info to follow.
